This coin isn't a huge deal is it since it? Since its not in great shape... What grade do you suppose it could be? Rachel
Rachel I'm not much into grading you might try pcgs photograde or you can wait for someone to come along.Lol Dave
Like @Dave363 suggested, look at this site https://www.pcgs.com/photograde/ Come up with your opinion on what you think it grades, then post "I think this grades XXXX, what do you think?" You might get a few snarky responses but most of the regulars will recognize you and provide feedback. Grading is a fundamental skill in coin collecting, and practicing is the best way to learn
Just remember you should be the biggest critic of your own coin. Being conservative in grade is much better than thinking it is better than it is. Be tough. I would also like to hear your opinion on the grade. Good luck!
I think it's in great shape for a 103 year old coin! A lot less wear for its age than most wheat cents you find in circulation.
I agree it is within the VF range nice coin. VF30 says that the hair obv. and wheat stalks rev. still show separation. Nice looking Lincoln!
The reason I was lower is because while the reverse is nicer, coins are graded more on the obv. first. And the obv is not as VF as the rev. So I was high F/ low VF.
I agree with your assessment @RachelRuth. I love those old Lincolns; they were my first passion in collecting coins (my father wouldn't let me pull larger denominations out of the cash register in our little Mom and Pop cafe). Steve
I also concur with your estimate of VF20, but the damage on the reverse (left and below N in CENT) could knock it down lower. Your photos are A-1, congratulations on the find.
