1914 d wheat cent

I found this 1914 d cent while searching through a jar of change I had sitting around. Can someone tell me what it’s worth.

If genuine it's at least around a $100-$200 coin,date looks correct but I'm quite concerned about the MM.It just doesn't look right and since this date is a key for the wheat cent series some play dirty.

 

The coin has been messed with in many ways. I won't guess if it's real.

 

The mint mark and some of the lettering is rather noticeable. Use a large photo

or use a scope or magnifier on the real coin. LOOK AT THE INSIDE OF THE "D"

Wow, the MM placement is screaming fake. Is there only one MM placement for the year?

 

I don't know about that, it's a pretty damaged coin. I think it's authentic.

 

I'm thinking there are 5 or 6 different placements.

Thank you all for the replies. The coin is pretty warn but If it’s fake then that’s scary it would be in circulation.

 

I think you're more likely to find a fake one in circulation than a real one.

 

Need better image of the date. So far the position of the D may not be OK.

 

If it is genuine, I would not put that much value to it, the surfaces are very heavily hammered.
