In this case though, unlike the quarter eagle which was only minted in Philadelphia, the half eagle was minted in both Philly and San Francisco. Check reverse of the coin left of the arrow tips for an &quot;s&quot; mint mark. The 1913-P is one of the more common dates with a mintage of 915,901 while the SF is less common with a mintage of only 408,000. The diameter of the coin when minted was about 21.6 millimeters and the weight should be close to 8.24 grams.</p><p><br /></p><p>To answer your question on restrikes or replicas, there are a LOT of fake quarter eagles out there and there are definitely some half eagles as well. You should check the diameter of the coin and weigh it as well.
