1911D- Another Find!! Grade it .

Just found this in my Newest found Coin book .A 1911D LWC , I'm guessing VF-20 ( $ 10 ) ? Comments about grade Welcome .

Yeah, Fine to VF... I'd say VF-20. And where did you get this? In a coin folder?

I had inherited some coins from an Uncle an had it stashed away . I thought I reviewed all of them but missed a couple semi-key dates . I also found a 1911S !

 

Obverse looks Fine to me.
The reverse probably VF.
But these days of one grade the obverse wins.

Final answer -- F-15

 

A friend of mine got a quarter-eagle ($2.50) in change as a cent. Your 1911-D cent is a great find, but if it had been an 11D QE!!

And I was hoping to see a 1911-D $2.50 Indian gold piece.
