I apologize for presenting arguments seemingly beyond your comprehensive skills. I stated clearly to SuperDave: "I don't know that it's (the mint mark on coin in slab) an error, and only my personal examination would ascertain the truth" To have a belief is entirely different than a statement of fact. As in any debate which I may participate, or action for adjudication, I must present logical arguments for a supposition (a conjecture that something is true without positive proof). I've presented same for any normal objective adjudication process. I didn't state that the mint mark was a D, but the seller intentionally did, and I believed there was reason to accept his understanding. Your paraphrased statements were: "The only "error" (in the auction document) is the sellers use of a "D", and this thread"."This (assumed coin/thread previously stated) seems pretty stupid to publicly post/offer ("pass off")" As aforestated, the sellers use of a D was not an error, but a statement, as this thread generally isn't an error, but a supposition with proper arguments for objective adjudication. It's apparent that others understood, by their corrective explanations posted. I just wanted to determine what was the basis for your "pretty stupid" understanding, but your response is adequate for an understanding. Realizing that this communication is a futile exercise, but a final attempt to determine community thoughts, I'll leave to contact the seller and auction winner to ascertain truths. I again apologize for the confusion, and trust you may partially understand/accept. JMHO
