Have you googled this? For what it's worth, I tried, found an eBay listing where one exactly like this didn't sell at $179 but later did listed at $99 with accepted best offer and did. Look very closely.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Daniel-Carr...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
I like Daniel Carr's creations. I think that they are pretty cool, and even own a few of his Carrter Dollars (the state quarter spoofs). But I did not pay much for these. I mostly like them for their humor and beauty. That being said, I do not consider them to have much if any Numismatic value. These are privately made coins, and there are no checks on mintage numbers that I know about. In my opinion, I would get a really nice government made Indian Head even if it means saving up for it. Just my opinion.
Okay... I didn't see the exact number it sold for, which is why I didn't mention it other than to say to say it sold via the best offer option.
Dan is very meticulous about keeping records of mintage as well as die parings and notorious for keeping his mintage numbers extreemly low
Daniel Carr's creations are cool, but they are just not in my collecting interest. But they do show a unique skill and imagination.
For identification purposes, I maintain a production "blog" for all of the fantasy-date over-strikes that I've done, including the "1910-D" Indian Head cent: http://www.moonlightmint.com/dc-coin_over-struck_list.htm
What is it worth? The copper value is about 2 cents. What will some poor, unfortunate sucker pay for this counterfeit? Way too much.
