    I don't know much about German Notgeld other than that it was issued in the years after the first world war to alleviate currency shortages in post-war Germany. Furthermore, notgeld was often issued by cities and towns and bore many unique and colorful designs. This particular piece appears to have been issued by Helgoland a small populated German island in the North Sea. However, based on an eBay search this particular note seems to be quite common based on the listing below which offers a full uncirculated denomination set for $15.00.
