I don't think you've done this type of research very much. Different photos are always a challenge to read. Little details won't show on both. We'll just have to disagree because I'm not spending any more time on this with you. I'm going to eat breakfast. I'm conceding nothing to you. I believe history will show I'm right. OP, reveal has been made. Will you please weigh in on this so the followers of this post can move on?
I can see the mark shown in post 213 in the CoinFacts image. There is no question that this is the same coin.
Pictures/lighting as well as focus have great capabilities of hiding/stressing minor marks. That is why you should use similarities to cross match coins rather than differences. I see way too many identical marks on both coins for them not to be the same coins.
I can't believe Cascade didn't credit messydesk, robec, and others on CT in that article! He took all the credit! Lmao
In the bottom photo, light is shining from the left, along the length of the features you mention; in the top photo, it's shining from the top, across the width of the features. Of course they're going to be more pronounced in the top photo.
You guys are awesome! Robec, JeffB, C-B-D, rim's cents, ldhair...Thanks for the support. My "Like" button is still missing. I wrote to the site about it and hopefully that can be fixed soon. I would absolutely 'like' many of your posts! When it gets fixed, I'll go back and retroactively add my "like" to all those good posts.
Very Late to this thread. Question. @Rick Stachowski Do you or someone in this thread believe these two images are the same (magic eraser) coin? I'll bet you are just making the obvious (tongue in cheek) that they are not.
Well, he spotted it. And in a coin dealer's inventory, no less. Oh, I'll let him off. After all, he shows it in two forums, months before the article. There are probably way too many to credit with an assist.
