[QUOTE="EyeEatWheaties, post: 1200019, member: 26972"]i think i have been driven to get a drink... Haven't had barely a minute to get back at my coins... wanted to check my one thread.. my one focus.. the point where I left off.... so, I went off to look for a die diagnostic image to compare against Dutchmans 67RD, found the open ended debate about whether there is another/more VDB MPL die varieties, read how the 420 number might have only been for the silver sets and not included the minor nickel/cent sets of the 1194 mintage number, etc etc on & on...... THEN! I ran into a reverse that looked vaguely familiar, scrolled through my images and with in seconds. boom... I found a reverse starting at 63, in the 65's - an original Illini coin btw - that matches to the new VDB MPL reverse variety that Charmy recently acquired.. Yet the 65BN coin I have is a business strike as best as I can tell from not seeing the rims and yet....... interestingly enough, it is missing the scratch inside the C of CENT which by itself has never been explained well enough to me on why it appears on the MPLs 1910 and later and only on the VDB BS.

Complicated and confused? yeah.. me too.

This is, I think.. the reverse of a new VDB MPL die set taken from a CU discussion. http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=30&threadid=771316&STARTPAGE=4

This is a reverse of a 65BN.. how can these reverse images not be from the same exact die, (disclaimer...I was searching for the little T over big T in UNITED - I compared couple other parts of both coins, not the whole coin)-(yes that is an interesting Period. speck of metal, after the "I" in PLURIBUS)

if they are in fact from the same die, then dies from the masters were used on both MPL and BS and over hundered years ago they had equipment that reproduced duplicates at microscopic perfection?
