I dunno. It seems that coin collecting is so far behind with technical advances. I was talking to 4k FB eBay seller the other day who uses a Sony Mavica, selling 1K coins from 256k files from a floppy disc! I mean, come on, consumer grade cameras are at 20MP which is converts to around 10MB depending on the subject of course. I really don't think the intention is to reduce those images to 1% of the original size... Don't even get me started with gas chromatography or laser identification.. lol

I have been playing with dynamic range stitching shots together and tinkering with a random orbital tilting turntable for coins in under my HD Cam but this board doesn't allow embed codes for video (of course why would they?) - why? because there aren't virtual coins to be seen.... which..... is beyond me...... "coin in hand" is over rated, my eyes don't see chit. IMO of course! lol MAS's MPL would pay for a 1/2 dozen virtual set ups. lol... anyways...

My photobucket account uploads the file without compressing/changing and hosts the image at what looks like 90% of the original. I can save from Gimp when I crop to a 85% jpg compression with reduces a 5MB file to about 1.5MB - my camera bit depth is 24 at 96dpi - so yeah I can reduce the file size....... BUT!

when I clicked on that BLUE MEANIE of yours there is no way I would have picked up that it was a DDO-2 you need this kind of resolution in order to see the die chips and scratch under Abes chin.

I can do these, but I think they are more of nuisance.

ah yep type 2!
