Greetings cointalk, is this the chicken dinner that I've heard so much about. I'm not getting my hopes up cuz I always get shot down. What do I have here?
Despite being cleaned in this condition they go for around $5-$10.Also nice I.D.B from the top wheat stalk to the E on the reverse.
Okay so it's the s that's the valuable one just got through reading about that. I've seen that mark from the top of the stalk towards the e but I am unfamiliar with the lingo that you said it was, IBD? So only a wing and not a chicken dinner huh, that was hilarious. Yes I thought it was rare but now that I know it's the s that closes another chapter that I didn't know. I have 12 of these didn't see any mint mark at all I'll go back double check. I also got a lot of Indian Head cents. Oldest one is 1862 and then I haven't succession 1900 to 1909. I thought in 1909 is when they started the Lincoln cents and there's also a 1909 Indian Head . What's the story behind that anyway thanks I'm going to get out of here and go post these Indian heads
They minted Indian Head Cents from 1859-1909. Yes, they also minted Wheat Cents from 1909-1958. The mint just overlapped some dates on some coins....
A nice die crack or IDB (Interior Die Break) on the reverse. Not the valuable one but still a nice find. Worth about $10 at most.
If you had a Red Book you'd know that. And much much more. Up to you on getting one, but it used to be where we start. That's not to say we didn't have microscopes. We just looked at things like amoeba with them, not coins.
