1909 VDB issues in dies or doubling? both sides

    I'm not seeing any crescent. It should look like this.

    Another diagnostic to look for in a VDB MPL is a die scratch above the B in LIBERTY on the obverse.

    Also look for die scratches in front of the nose.

    yes I have thoroughly and painstakingly reviewed those diagnostics and the new ones that Kevin Flynn found for another die set..
    you have to also take into context the coin and it double struck nature... I have pic or two I believe I have posted midway or so through this thread. It just appeared to possibly be a partial/ pushed look to where the crescent should be.

    I figure why not have them confirm or shot the idea down.. at least ill know.

    I would do the same.

    Good luck!! Finding a VDB MPL in the wild would be ultra exciting, but finding one with a mint error even more so. Can't wait to see the results.

    That is what I was thinking.. longer the better. It is somewhat of a head scratcher, MPL or not. but how cool would it be if it turned out to be so?!?!?!

    Either way its a neat coin!
