1909 V.D.B. is it a proof?

    after looking at it with 15x magnification i can see 1 clearly but 2 and 3 the toning makes it really hard to tell, i need a stronger magnification . I think this is a proof...and a nice one at that :D

    the proofs have an oddly wide rim. I think thats the best way to tell if you dnt have a microscope

    Hi Bob, that was 12 1/2 years ago . I have done it sometimes also. The proof rim is flat with right angles at the edge. Here is mine,1909 proof, Jim

    Those are the rims one needs to look for. No beveling or rounded corners at all. 90° angles on the outside and inside. Very nice!!
