It's real, but it's a real replica of the expensive 1909 s vdb. Just a fun token, welcome to CT...show us more of your grandpa's stuff.

No, that's not genuine. Run the title of this thread through Google images and you'll see why for yourself. That leaves the question, where did it come from? Maybe there are some here who've seen these and would know, so don't split on us just yet.

So does that mean it has no value at all?

Considered Exonumia. Pretty cool piece. And it does have value to someone.

Freakshow value. I'm not being rude. That's the short of it, in the vernacular.

You are correct. It is not real. I have one, too. It is about 77mm and weighs 5.24ozs./148.6gms. It was a gift!

They used to have similar ones in local 5 & 10 stores like Ben Franklin stores when I was a kid.

Is it real? It depends upon your definition of real. I think it is real, but, not a us mint coin.

Welcome to Coin Talk! I think those things are neat. Some of them in the junk stores at the beach are very light and others are nice and heavy. Hope you have a heavier one. Keep it for a paperweight!
