Nice. I'm thinking AU-55. but it could just be your pics making it appear as though it has a small trace of wear.
no there are no initials...I sharpened and made the picture brighter and could not see the initials. That coin is very hard to tell what grade though to take a stab it may get AU55 cleaned.
I adjusted the lighting but the photo is still too dark, unfortunately. Shoewrecky and Lincolncent, what leads you to believe it's been cleaned?
I am not so sure about the cleaning. The pictures are a bit dark to tell for sure. However, from what I can make out on that reverse, it sure looks corroded to me.
I'm sure that the photos don't do justice to the coin in real life. It looks nice to me. Here are the photos corrected with color balance and level adjustment in Photoshop: Wave over the photo to zoom:
Thanks guys. Glad you like the photo. I'll do that for any coin. If anybody ever needs me to do that for them, I'd be glad to.
While post processing may help terrible photos, it should NOT be done to a properly taken picture. I absolutely NEVER post process other than to crop/resize. Doing so creates an illusion and not a true representation of the coin.
werd... the color is off on the coin the lightened pics, i'm guessing...... altered surfaces ? previous cleaning? now toned? BTW .... just a tip. if you are unsure about your cameras white balance, take your coin pics on a white background using the brightest copy paper you have several sheets thick.
