1908s IHC

    Found this at an antique store recently. Was surprised to see the MM on the reverse after asking to look at it. A few small laminations on the obv. What’s with the coloring?

    I think they call this a "Woody". Mixed alloy is off ? Wait for more opinions...

    Seen quite often 1908 s and 1909 s Indian cents.

    Cool. I am not really experienced with the IHCs. Seen LWC woodies from time to time, but those did not have the level of color contrast of this IHC.

    Yes, a very nice coin! Plus, are you seeing any type of doubling here?

    I can get a better pic of the date when i get home. I had not noticed it, but it could just be contrasting colors. I see a similar but less apparent shadow on the inside of the 0.

    Here’s a couple close-ups of the date. Best I can do. Looks like there could be some type of doubling on the 0 and maybe the 8...Regardless, I think I got it for a pretty good price.

    It's hard to tell now. Maybe it's the lighting. Others may chime in.
