Picked up this lustrous German coin recently. It's graded by NGC. I haven't posted a "guess the grade" thread in ages, so here goes...

Guess the grade, no pluses involved - just a straight MS grade.

The luster looks strong from the photos...the various ticks and scrapes made me go with a 64
(perhaps they over exaggerated on my screen and then that grade would be a little too harsh)

    I'm on the 64 bandwagon.

    65 wouldn't surprise me.

Between the "R" & "E" of reverse at 1 o'clock, is that a die crack or a scratch? 64 for me as well.

Great luster! I think there are a few too many marks on his cheek and obverse right fields for a 65, so I voted 64.

The line by EI of DREI is a die scratch - thus raised on the coin. There are a couple other places with die cracks between letters.

Your comment of “RE” at one o’clock is a die crack. Also at RE at 7 o’clock.

A very nice coin issued by Queen Victoria's grandson!

Reverse looks gem but obverse doesn't so I think it got MS64.

My first impression of the obverse was a 64, and although the reverse is much nicer, I think the numerous small nicks on the obverse limit this coin to a 64.

Sometimes, guessing the grade is easy ;) This is textbook 64 - and a very attractive coin.
