I do remember that it took me an entire school year of chores, but when he gave that half eagle to me, I raced home and mom and I sat at the kitchen table all evening marveling over this beautiful gold coin...... Maybe six or eight years ago I had that half eagle set like you see below and sent it back to mom.... Russ, you couldn&#039;t take that chain off her neck with a winch ever since. I remember the night she called me to ask if it would hurt the coin to sleep with it on..... Talk about melting my heart....
