Just got this back from Rick Snow, some of you might have seen my thread back in December: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/snow-attribution.256390/, anyway, I got the coin back, and ta-da!
Thanks everyone. I found this at my local coin store, and since I saw it had minor repunching I bought it. At first I thought it was Snow-29 in my Cherrypicker's Guide, but I wasn't sure so I brought it to Rick Snow to attribute it at Baltimore whitman, and now here I am. @tommyc03, I think so, I'm not to sure how often he publishes a new edition of his Indian Head Cent attribution book.
Nice! I suppose you just keep the attribution along side it, then, as it's not slabbed and attributed on the slab. That'll work. I actually like the fact it's raw. That probably helped the identification along, too, his being able to examine it in-hand. Congratulations!
They won't put "discovery Piece" on any slab. I checked with both of them in person at an ANA show about my 1982 DDR
@kanga, I'll think about getting it slabbed, I'm not sure if PCGS or NGC even knows about this variety yet. @ziggy9 , Too bad about that discovery piece thing, I'm still happy that the coin is attributed to me though!
ANACS will slab it as a discovery piece if you provide them proper documentation (i.e. a copy of your letter from Rick Snow).
Yet they slabbed "first coin issued" for one of their Board of Experts on the Kennedy gold. Ridiculous.
