    1907 Fr. HELVETIA 1 Franc Coin- FRANCE

    Coin from my Father's small coin collection (will be posting photos of the others as well). Any information/advice/thoughts is welcome & encouraged! I am new to the coin community and look forward to learning from you all. Thank you!

    Yes it's not France.
    Switzerland. It's one Swiss Franc.
    Only 800,000 minted and NGC says $7 in VF.
    Maybe around $5 for yours to a collector?
    There is a $2.50 melt value for the silver content. 83.5% 5 grams.

    Fun fact about Swiss coins - they haven't changed the design one bit in over 120 years.

    I love that too. Even the non-silver ones are very fun to stack.

    And Switzerland issues one of the highest denominated coins in the world (in terms of USD value), next to Japan's 500 Yen. I wonder what a $5 dollar coin would look like here? Perhaps a bi-metal would be nice ;)
