    I felt the same way. I kept everyone I saw since 1948. They were very plentiful back then. A penny was a penny and would actually buy something. So, very few people hoarded them.

    Back in the late 40's and early 50's any coin ever minted for circulation (other than gold coins) was apt to be found in circulation. I received a 20 Cent Piece in change that was supposed to a quarter. He beat me out of 5 cents. But, I never complained and mom said I could keep it.

    I have a ton of President and Sacagawea dollars that are now worth only $1. I take them with me to the golf course twice a week and give them as tips at the refreshment window. The young ladies (HS and College age) get excited as they don't see stuff like that. Perhaps one of them will be a collector.
