Yes, I can give some helpful hints. Whites is a good brand. What model do you have? I hunt with a Tesoro. #1 rule of detecting is research. You cant find something that isnt there to find. If you are after change...go to a high school. I hunt the local high school between the student parking lot and the front door. Always look for old houses or churches. The older the better. People have been taking change for the offering to church since who knows when. As far as technique, make sure your coil stays flat to the ground during the ENTIRE swing. Always go slow and overlap your swings. The signal that comes out of the coil goes down in a cone shape. Overlap your swings by at least half the width of your coil. I went detecting with a buddy the other day and he loves to swing his machine at 90 mph and was finding alot more money than me, but I was finding the old silver coins and the deep ones because I was taking my time. If you want to find gold, keep your discrimination low enough thta you are finding pull tabs. Gold falls in the same conductivity range as pull tabs so if you are finding pull tabs, you will find the gold if it is there. If you have anymore questions you can email me at jmgifts2002@yahoo.com Good luck.
