I saw this listing on ebay for what is described as an 18th century Ukrainian coin. I had a vague feeling that it might be valuable so I bid, but I didn't really know for sure and I lost it. I'm wondering if it was any good. Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171823538323?ssPageName=STRK:MEDWX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1435.l2649
Thanks. After I thought about it, I was thinking that I don't know if Ukraine was ever an independent country to issue its own coinage. I think I was remembering that someone posted a Georgian coin once and said it was worth big money.
There were Ukraine coins made before the Russian coins became common. http://www.bank.gov.ua/control/en/publish/article?art_id=37482 Such hryvnia are actually quite rare. Georgian coins also share similar history. Here is a link with various pictures. http://www.coinpeople.com/index.php/topic/32770-georgian-coins/
