1897 Gold Miners Convention Medal I Need Some Id Help?

    I have this Denver Medal that was dug, not by me, I bought it a while back. First question is has anyone come across one of these before? And my main question is J.E. Miller Maker's mark is on the reverse of the pin back part, last pic. Anyone know anything about him? And, yes I googled his name and nothing came up. Anyone? :D

    Googling "first international gold mining convention" (in quotation marks for more specific results), I found one that sold for $55 here. Another one here.

    Yet another here, when I used slightly different keywords ("miners" instead of "mining", I think I put in).

    And a Q&A from the Mark Parker column about detector finds here.

    Plus various Google Books results and so on.

    Yeah, the beaded item is a gourd. Has kind of a 1960's look to it. Information appreciated, price not but I'll get over it. j/k :D You'se quite the researcher there LordM! Good on you for that! ;)
