Is that what I'm looking at here? New dansco coin that is nicer than I expected it to be. @Mainebill any help on this?

Okay, lets review one of my favorite Barber dime varieties.

In the original reference, Lawrence's reference book on Barber dimes, he lists this as No. 101, S/S east.
And also as No. 102, S/S/S triple S, RPM to the East, Shelf doubling to the West.

In actuality, it is only an S/S, RPM to the East, and as noted, shelf doubling to the West.

Lawrence should have only listed one variety.

a later reference was more accurate, and CPG lists it as FS-10-1893S-501, RPM, with machine doubling.

I have cherrypicked 4 examples of these, 2 in G, a F-15, and an AU.

S over S, with plain shelf doubling to the west, unless someone can show me how the "S" stamp can suddenly become so much larger as to RPM that shelf. And not split the serif while doing so. Then I'll change my mind.

Sorry it didn't work....You may just have to go to www.Varietyvista.com click on 19th century and then look for 1893-S under dimes.

Mine doesn't look so good... It is only in good 4 condition.... But here are some pics.... IMG_20160512_110053.jpg IMG_20160512_110026.jpg IMG_20160512_105948.jpg

No mine is not an RPM, just a pic of my only 1893-S. It is a pretty rare coin and I'm just glad to have that spot in the Dansco filled. Q
