1893 Isabella Quarter Dollar (counterfeit?)

I'm scared to buy any high priced coin on Ebay, not to say I won't, but I go in with doubt until I believe it is safe. I've seen several Isabella's that worry me so I will not buy one on Ebay because of it.

Hi I currently have a 1893 Isabella quarter that I'm trying to figure out if it's authentic, what it's worth, ect. As I was looking closer at it I noticed that half the U on the United States was missing. I'm no coin expert by any means and it could be from wear, but like I said I'm not an expert. To be honest, I don't know anything about coins and grading systems or anything, but I'm in dire need for some extra money and am looking to sell it if possible.
