Perhaps @Insider will chime in and let us know if a fingerprint would cause it to get "detailed"

Silver ring is not a scientific test. Nice looking coin. Not an expert but I would guess those are not original surfaces. Dropping the value from AU $150+ down to half that if it comes back details.

The coin looks like a scruffy "Unc-Enough" :D ;) to me.

I don't think I would have it graded as less folks will want it.

I got this old bad boy graded out of my curiosity and the grade came back to me today at a whopping MS62! What a steal :)

Not bad when I only snagged her for 115$! I don’t know if NGC has different pricing per grade then PCGS because they say it’s worth 425$ but I can assume that toning can add a little worth to her!

If he's apprehensive a fingerprint may be etching its way in could acetone possibly retard that? It's the sodium in the print that does the etching. I'm thinking acetone will dry it out, but will it somehow neutralize the sodium and stop any progression?

Honestly not sure exactly what it is that does the etching, but either first acetone, then distilled water or vice versa wouldn't do any harm as long as any kind of rubbing or scrubbing is avoided.

Thank you! It’s the only coin that I’ve received where I needed to send it in.
