I see what appears to be a die clash in front of the eye/eyebrow of this obverse. (If one can trust an image not taken by yourself)... My question is, is this a known Snow or Breen variety?
There are folks that collect die clashed coins but they don't pay much of a premium for them. Just too many out there to buy. Some collectors don't care for them and won't buy them at all.
Change tittle to 1890 not 1990 lol but looks like a die clash to me not worth a premium over face maybe a $1 or 2
Verify the clash in a reverse overlay. I think someone posted one here for the IHCs not that long ago. It likely isn't listed, Frank is right. If it's a clash, and I can't imagine what else it could be off this excellent picture, it should attribute as such. What's it worth? That's a two-edged sword. There's a market out there that doesn't want to see that, and another that thinks it's way cool. Get the right one on the hook, and you're going places.
Clashes like this are commonplace...it's where the O in ONE clashes the obverse. However, there is at clash that created a die chip in the forehead that is collectable--picture here. There's also a clash from 1890 where the denticles of one die struck the reverse. 1890 OCC-001 (S16)
