Have two 1889-0 Morgan Silver Dollars and the dates are significantly different in size. is the smaller or larger date of any added value?
The one on the left with the larger numerals looks to be a counterfeit. The letters look wrong. The slope of the jaw is too steep. The flare of the nostrils is smaller and the forehead is lower. I'd point out more, but I haven't seen the reverse. Chris
Agreed...the one on the left looks all wrong. The one on the right looks "funny" to me too...but I can't figure out why. Maybe the one on the left has me all paranoid, but something seems wrong.
I'd like to see the reverse of the one on the right. It doesn't look too bad. Maybe, it's because of the poor condition. Chris
The one on the left looks all wrong. Do you mean the one on the right? I agree...I'd like to see the reverse too. Something about it looks a little "off" but again I can't figure it out. My eyes are probably playing tricks on me.
The one on the views left is jacked up. Just look at the jaw line. There is no such thing as a small or large date VAM for that that date. Bad fake.
Considering most are not silver, one reason should be obvious. Another is that many seem to think just as you do in that why bother with commons.
