1889 Morgan VAM

    I'm not the greatest at VAM attribution, but I noticed something interesting going on at this one at the same point that there's a die break on VAM19a.

    If this is anything, is this a known variety that I'm missing, or perhaps an early state of the die break? 20191114_181622.jpg

    That's a very common clash from Liberty's neck. On the VAM 19A and 22, a similar clash is possibly what aggravated the die such that the die break formed. There will probably be a corresponding diagonal line clash in front of Liberty's neck from the wing edge. By itself, a clash like this doesn't indicate a specific VAM, although if strong enough to cause lettering to transfer to the other side, it will be mentioned as a distinct "subvariety" listing.
