Hello Coin enthusiasts. Here is one I really like and want to get everyone's opinion on grade and value. I plan on having this one slabbed, if it is deemed worthy.
    Thank you all. 20210310_140356.jpg 20210310_140417.jpg

    IHC errors are really cool.
Certainly a market for them, I don't do errors but the red book (take it with a grain of salt) says 600. I'm sure there is wiggle room on the high end as potty pointed out

WOW! Nice coin! I don't know that I would have it slabbed, but if you're into that by all means. I think it would be worth the cost. However I admit I am not an expert that you should be getting advise from! Just giving my opinion for what it's worth!!!

@Eric the Red Nice eror for sure. I'm not sure it would straight grade though. The fields look to have been cleaned, so it would likely receive a details designation. If it were mine and ANACS were running a special, I would include it for posterity. BTW-this is not double struck, it is called a "clip".

    Slab away! :woot:

It's interesting that it has any circulation wear at all. Who's gonna spend a coin like that?

I feel a little Leary about that coin. It is mushy, and not because of wear. Look at all the details on the coin. Something is off.

I was thinking the same thing...the second strike seems to have better detail. Could that be the result of a really weak first strike? ...or something else?

I don't like it either, and here's why. The wear on the main part of the coin is much different than the the wear on the error portion. Look at the denticles in particular. They're much LESS worn on the error portion. At 9 o'clock on the obverse, the denticles and rim are worn almost smooth. But if you look immediately above that, on the error portion, the denticles are much, much sharper. I would have expected even wear. The wear on the reverse at the point of the error, compared to the error portion, doesn't add up either. Look at the example @potty dollar 1878 posted. Even wear throughout. IMHO, the OP's coin is some kind of fake.
