Found this out last week, what grade do you guys think it would be ? I've been told a few things from XF40 to AU50

I don't know much about grading but it looks better than some of the AU50's that I've seen, has slight wear on some high points, looks alot better in hand

    I'll go with 45 but I'm not sure it's the 88/7.

NICE find! 100% definite 1888/7 (assuming not a new high-level Chinese die-transfer fake). My grade is EF-40, but a TPG might say anything up to AU-55 because they love overgrading these.

The over-date isn't doubled or re-punched on top of the last 8 .

There is clearly, no re-punch on top of the last 8 .

    Lets do an examination .
First look at the date placement .

    Here's your .
    upload_2018-8-8_7-57-47.png
Now look at the one from pcgs .
    upload_2018-8-8_7-58-30.jpeg
Easy to see it doesn't match the over-date for placement .

Look at the placement of the end of the 1 to the denticle .
It's not even close to the over-date .

Really guys? Are you that ignorant? Or are you just narrow-minded?

This die chip is diagnostic for the 1888/7.

And it does have the little bit of the 7 poking out from the bottom of the 8.

Go ahead and deny it all you want, but it is making you look very foolish.

You started the comparison lines at different locations. Even if the lines are the same angle, they will intersect the dentils at different locations. If you just eyeball the date position, you will notice that it is an exact match

The counterfeits I am talking about have been getting into TPG slabs.
