IMG_0002-43.jpg IMG_0003-35.jpg how would you grade this? Some toning around the edges.

Hard to tell from the pics. But it does kind of look like it may have been overdipped - a chemical cleaning that damaged the luster. Can you take a pic with better lighting on the coin?

Good call I was thinking cleaned also.

I was wondering if a scanner was used to get the pictures? To me scanned coins always have that kind of washed out, lustre-less look.

That may have just been the bad lighting. A482C4E3-31FA-4689-A6A5-F592DBC2E1EF.jpeg 9812985B-4709-4E72-B190-252AEC48C521.jpeg

I’m working on setting up a better rig to take pictures. Go figure the iPhone pictures look better than the $3k camera.:banghead:

    It might make a 64 but I’m at a MS-63.

Enough going on across the cheek, I'm at MS62. And frankly I'm not convinced the surfaces haven't been messed with. JMO.

Get some light on that coin @5150rider707
The surfaces do not look right. I am thinking whizzed.

It doesn't look cleaned or whizzed either one to me.

I took this coin out from a Plexiglass holder that it was in since the 80's.

There is zero Cartwheel on that dollar.
The highpoint luster is completely gone. It is flat and lifeless.
    Maybe MS altered surfaces.

It looks like a lot of the photos that I take that don't show the luster although it is there.

I've seen some of your photos, when they are MS, they still show some cartwheel.
I don't see any in the OP's photos.

Here is cartwheel luster taken with my cell phone. Sorry to much magnification.

I have to agree with @Pickin and Grinin, when the first set of pics showed no luster at all I thought it could have been how the image was captured. When the second set came in and the light was pretty uniform over the face of the coin it makes me pretty certain that the luster isn't there. I'm wide open to seeing pics that show otherwise, its just so far what we've seen doesn't look that way.
