I'm really just experimenting at this point:

I would stray away from any picture with that golden color.

They'll be better when I can get a fluorescent lightbulb for my other lamp. I'm shooting for this:

These pics are much better at showing all the bag marks, the last pics may have hid a few, but I agree the color off. Keep working on them though they are getting better.

the last pic is the best so far, how about show the reverse. Grading , based on the obverse, it's a 63. not bad.

That isn't a pic of the OP's coin, it's just an example of what he wants his pics to look like.

I think it is the same coin, just a different lighting a photo adjustment.

We did but both of those coins were an 1886 O, on the other hand the only way the last pic is of the original coin is if it magically changed from a 1885 to a 1883.

ok, it's less confusing if you post pics of the coin in question though. LOL

I said that I was shooting for that. :)

I think I finally figured out the white balance and I should be able to post pics in a little while, but I think that the only things holding me back from taking really good pictures now are that I don't have a copy stand and I need one more fluorescent lightbulb.

I realized that most of that golden color in the pictures was because I forgot to take the yellow lampshade off my other lamp. :headbang:

This picture was posted by tdec1000 a while ago and it has that golden luster too. I'm not saying that my pics were good, I'm just saying it can work if you do it right.
