Nothing wrong with that coin, the mark on the neck is part of the design. The reason that it is so pronounced is that it is well struck. I'd call it MS-65 all day.
I know that the design has an indent , or whatever it's called there . But like I tried to say I thought it took a hit in the same exact spot . Now what would you like me to look at ?
Yeah, since it is GSA (which I obviously noticed), it would probably grade--some of the GSA coins have been rejected with obvious damage, but it isn't often. I think it is an obvious 65 without the hit, and with it I will still stick with my original 63--the hit is that bad and in an obvious place. Beautiful coin otherwise, and I am continuing posting, even if the OP could care less about learning to grade. Just for general edification, there's an indent in the normal Morgan design in that place, but there is a big hit right on top of the natural indent--so that makes it all the more obvious, as it is in a conspicuous place on the devices.
Nope--it is a hit on top of the indent, not just a good strike (which it is definitely a good strike). There is a hit on the crevice of the indented design. Here is a typical baggy Morgan that is uncirculated, well-struck, with the normal design indentation--notice how much less pronounced that area is in terms of depth--there is a hit on the OP coin right in that crevice:
I only look at my 6th Edition , after you got Ken Bressett to sign my 7th Edition I don't want to wreck it .
look at the picture...... inverted? He can't read? per his posts... okay I give up. Someone else explain this.
When you least expect it , you're elected , it's your lucky day . SMILE ......................... I'm gonna get ya Frank !!!!!
So.. Kids, what to do... continue to have fun, let the games proceed! Or ignore complete. Iustus abecere eum.
LOL. I thought you were referring to one of the coin pictures.... I'm going to sit in the corner for a while.
Did anyone else notice that this thread is now almost 3 pages long and the OP only posted the original pictures and nothing else since? Oh, well...I've learned a bit about Morgans so that's a win
