I would normally say MS 65+ but that nick on the neck is really noticeable. I would say MS 63 because of the nick, and it might not even grade because of that. Otherwise, it is a beautiful coin.
Here's a cropped extreme close up of the area--is it serious enough to be no grade--damaged? That is the question.
Oh, okay. Sorry. Looks like a really nice coin that was damaged while in storage in the bag. Shame, because, otherwise it would grade high.
This is one time I don't get it , the op asked for a grade and that's what you gave him with an explanation of why . I'd of gone 65 without that hit too , but unfortunately most Morgans come with hits and I'd lower it to a 64 .
Frank , I don't think that's part of the design , looks to me to be more a hit where the little indent usually is . Though my eyes are quite bad , but it looks too big compared to the indent of the design , IMHO . I unless the light is making it look larger than it is .
Dang , the more I look at it , it looks like the original design as it would be sharper if it were a hit . Nice coin either way .
