It is a 21A without the die scratch on the wing. I'm still looking for an example with the scratch.

Yea, i was looking 4 that scratch on the op coin. I know you are the 83o man. Are you trying to assemble a set of all the known vams?
Have you cherried the E clash yet? Ive been looking 4 either of those for a few years now, w no such luck.

Yeah, I'm working on an '83-O set. I've accumulated 42 so far but a few are duplicates and die stages.
I've cherried several 36A's and have one 22A in NGC EF45, a cheery pick by Nate Milliard who was kind enough to pass it to me. The 22A is the monEy coin, right now at least and is not easily found for picking. The 36A is relatively plentiful with EDS examples (without the die crack bridge above the mint mark) being a nice E transfer. The E wears off eventually and the die pairing reverts back to the parent 36(LDS) VAM. Ray Sanchez just sorted this one out recently by getting LVA to add the 36B listing while eliminating 1H.
If you're interested in a 36A I'll watch for a nice EDS example.

Wow, i guess you ARE da man when it comes to these. I thought either coin would be hard to find. Thx 4 the info, Im glad i ascertained, very interesting and insightful....
I would much prefer to cherry one, but i guess the 22a is the one i REALLY want now.
There are a few select vams that are ALWAYS in the back of my mind, such as the '87p 1B, but the 83o has a few i really want.
A gem buffed reverse would be a nice find!

This is the one that got me started on 83-O. I was looking at hundreds of 83-O's looking for 1C's and started picking up other die pairings while on the hunt. I've got 8 VAM-1C's now ranging from no clash 1C1 in PL to a LDS 1C2 which is my current avatar. Still looking for an EDS DMPL and 1C3's of course which are as common as hen's teeth.

Just curious which Vam this one is. I've had it for about 25 years. It does have a spike similar to the OP's 83-0, though not as prominent.

That's what is now listed as 39A(used to be V53)

Nice textile toning on the reverse. :)

Very nice coin. Good example of that Van, and really nice toning on the reverse. Great find!
