Nice bunch of specimens you have there the 1872 h 10 nicely clashed , the 83 V nickel nice pick also. Better warn you now half dimes are habbit forming .... i only have about 300 now.
Well didnt want to sound like a pusher man..... and what ever you do don't get hooked on the cap bust h 10's 1829-1836 like this You wouldn't like them..... they take you over to the dark side
@Wade Elliott post a clear image of the v nickel date and Ill give you it attribution on the variety.
Wade I need your lighting to brighten the entire date as the shadows keep me seeing which digits are repunched. The Repunched digits as well as the die crack trail will allow me to attribute. I will include this die cracks as I see them can be a pup ,or may not...as in many cases depending on the die state cracks may be present and they may not.
19.3 1883 NC Liberty nickel 1 tripled, showing primarily in serif to the south, first 8 to right second 8 to north, 3 to if die crack runs from tip of bust downwards through date to rim recut legs on "AM" (ERICA) Am touch die crack
Oh Wade ...like some more good news! Your 1872 h-10 is an ddo! A V- 6 doubling can be seen on America the toe of lady Liberty The heavy clashes makes it hard to read at first....but we have a bingo !
WOW, JUST AMAZED right now. And down the rabbit hole I go...research will be all week on this now thank you!
Reference to these is found on variety Vista or wexlers or i may be very giddy here and I thought both were just machine doubling and now I'm a bit over the moon!
I use for half dimes several text as well a few wed sites to id Kevin Flynn book the newest but now out of print if you can get your hands on one. If you can't find let me know I know of a few. Nickels yeah lots of information out there...but I also search for older books that may have something missed in others.
