I have this coin in my collection for almost a year now,

How does the scratch on the edge will affect if I were to send this coin for grading?, however I guess the coin has already been cleaned!

It might or might not get a pass on the cleaning. I'd say the scrape is likely to get you a "details" grade. It is still a decent looking coin and I didn't notice that mark until you mentioned it.

    I say VF details.

Here is one I had, sold, and miss.

I wouldn't lay odds on your coin straight-grading, but then again, look at this dime I have now. NGC straight-graded it. See that hairline scratch across the portrait? Now, it isn't so harsh looking in hand (I needed a loupe to see it), but it's there. And they gave that a pass.

If the half shows obvious cleaning, it may be worthwhile to have it slabbed by a less expensive service like anacs or icg, to prove it's authentic, since these are frequently faked.
Lord M., your Hawaii half is very much appreciated by its current custodian. half obv.jpg half rev.jpg
