Not for the seller. See, I feel coin buying and selling should be HONORABLE--a fair price for both parties. I don't believe any of this, but if it is true, I think it is ethically challenged.
Wow, who else here just by looking at it can determine 100% with no doubt that this coin is real or fake? If I told you I paid 200.00 for it you would be saying congrats/good find lol! Like I said, I took it to the best dealer in the town of where I live and all of these guys said it looks legit. These people are not newbies and have been in business for over 40 years now with a reputation for being the "Gold Standard" when it comes to coin shops in my town.
If the coin is real, and I am suggesting that it may or not be real, then it is the most immoral kind of profiteering I've heard in a while. You stated that the person had to sell his coins, and you knowingly paid some poor soul $20 for a coin worth at LEAST10x more???????????? I think that is beyond gross, and would never brag about something as crass as that. Numismatics has honor to it, and this isn't honorable if that coin is, indeed, real. Barf!!!!!!
OK, I don't know you personally and really didn't think I had to lay this information out on the table but here it goes. Just to be accurate, I've done business with the individual I purchased the Morgan from before and have compensated them more money in the past if the coin ends up being evaluated and determined genuine. As I said before in this thread, this is my first coin to be submitted and slabbed, so when it comes back graded ,only then will I repeat what I've done in the past and compensate more money. Until then there is still a chance it be slabbed fake/not genuine. You shouldn't be so angered that it makes you jump to conclusions over a business transaction that didn't involve you , which means you don't know the seller/buyers tendacies. Have a great weekend!
Yeah, right! If that were the case, you would have paid the going rate for what was deemed by you to be a MS Morgan--- certainly NOT $20. You are giving the impression that you are being fair???? Sorry, you sound like a profiteer-- I certainly have never had relationships with dealers in coinage like that. We treated each other with mutual fairness, not exploitation. This whole story smell like a rotten fish.
LoL you're too funny! I'm sorry you're too stubborn and ignorant to realize that I've been speaking the truth.
How often do you think we've heard similar lines when someone had to backtrack on their story? Yeah, right! I don't buy it either, and people complain about dealers who give the hobby a bad name. For that matter, you're right up their with those traveling bandits buying everything for squat. Chris
And I didn't backtrack, I gave info that I felt was personal at the time, not public, it became public because you guys are speaking untruthful things about me. I have no reason to lie or give half truths to you guys or anyone for that matter. I come to this website to get information and show and tell coins ,not be ridiculed for a transaction. Get over it !
This is why you're a liar! Why don't you jump off the face of the planet, and I hope the coin gets lost in the mail. I've read that they have a lot of thieves in the California postal system. Chris
Since you posted just one minute after my warning, I just delete your words and won't give infractions. Jim
Infractions? For questioning the legitimacy of buying a 300 dollar coin from an unsuspecting buyer for 20 dollars? I don't understand that logic!
Logic?? I certainly question anyone's logic that would debate with an anonymous person over unconfirmable statements to this point. No , it isn't logic, it is the rules. Jim
Is the image taken with diffused light? It has that type of look to me. If not it has a sort of a polished look to the stars. I really cant comment completely on the coin. Would like to see bigger pics.
