1882-CC Received Wrong Coin, What to do/What Would it Grade?

    The earlier coins graded PL and DMPL more easily. Both NGC, and especially PCGS have tightened the reflectivity standards over the years. That coin might have graded PL 10 years ago, but now, the standard has actually gotten tighter. That is why I would never go for a regrade in an older PL or DMPL Morgan-- it might lose the designation.

    That makes sense, you see a ton of ANACS DMPLs in old holders that don't even look PL.
