Here an Indian head my pops found in a small jewelry box that was in a van he bought and flipped awhile back. It had a lot of really coins and tokens in them (the tokens are hilarious, but I'm not sure if I can them here. A little gutter minded) I wanted to double check here if this was post mint damage on it. He was wanting to try to sale some of these if they were of decent value.
Let me introduce you to another kind of doubling.. Longcare's Doubling for Indian Head Cents http://www.error-ref.com/longacre-s-doubling/
Another kind!! I am getting top heavy with all this stuff I'm learning!!! I booked marked that site, but I keep forgetting about that one!! Thank You! Being a Texas gal, this one is probably my favorite ever. no errors just part of the coins in that box.
I see it, very cool. Pops want to know if there is any value to it because of that? I told him probably not because of the damage, he then reminded I was still learning...
Tracy, my first thought on your Indian Head cent was lamination, but @paddyman98 if THE man for errors, so I defer to his answer. As for the Texas commemorative; They were minted from 1934 until 1938 at all three mints (P,D,S) with plenty left today in MS condition. Here is mine. 1937 ICG MS64 8,006 minted. 1,434 were melted.
Your 1934 Texas Centennial Half Dollar was only minted in Philadelphia and 205,113 were struck and 143,537 were melted, so yours is one of 61,463 possibly still around. In the condition of your coin, eBay has them for around $100. Silver content .900. Melt is currently $27.48 an ounce.
