    Hey,

I’m looking for some help with a coin I unearthed today in the garden.

Its a 1878 Spanish centimos coin but it is clearly stamped with a ‘Z’ on each side.

The Z is in a different place on each side.

    Thanks.

It was struck with a punch. I wonder how recent it was done or if there is some documentation on the mark.
Could be someone just playing around. The date makes me wonder.
If I remember who deals with counterstamps around here I will tag them.
    Sorry I couldn't help.

No that’s wonderful! Thanks for help! I am reluctant to try and clean it up, the other side has a lot of green oxidisation. I understand it’s bronze. What’s the best way to respectfully clean a bronze coin?

    cheers!
