Spock, I admit I don't know much about Indian mohurs other than I love the design particuliarly the 1841 design with the lion and palm tree reverse. I will have one in my collection one day .... in MS grade :D but ... I can attest that personally I have had 5 gold coins which were purchased from large reputable european auction houses (ie. Kunker, Elsen, Raunch) as well 2 from Stacks that were graded "EF" that graded out as MS 61-63 by NGC. I also had 2 "EF" that graded AU-55 and AU-58. So my experience is that most European dealers "EF" gold coins will grade at least AU-55 with the majority MS61-63. I don't know how PCGS would grade them but is my opinion that NGC has far more experience grading world coin than PCGS so I trust their grades. On US gold I prefer to trust PCGS. The only problem I have ever had with European auction houses is that 3 of the coins I purchased although very nice looking in hand had light cleaning and were "no grades" by NGC. This is why purchasing coins from European dealers at auction can be very risky if you are not allowed to return them ... read the Auction terms very close. UBS allowed me to return an auctioned coin for full refund - shipping but most will not since the only thing they guarantee is the authenticity of the coin not the grade. As photos are getting better and better this also helps with evaluating EF quality but you can still not detect minor cleaning. My 2 cents worth :)
