I can. Granted, I'm younger than a lot of you.

13 was when I went to my first coin show.

I had to think about it. Computers cell phones weren't even close. Cable TV was new had that dumb box on a wire. Atari pong was the thing the well to do''s had. And like many teens I was on my way to many stupid decisions.

I think it was Atari, but we played that jungle game with the dude running and jumping over alligators and water for all night with a keg of beer. And the Atari bowling game was fun as heck too!! Many years ago - coin collecting was on the backburner in my 20's

Haha, I remember the bowling game. I did some collecting as a young kid. But teens no there was much funner things to do. Only problem they were always the wrong thing, lol. At 13 I already knew how to hot wire a car maybe 12. I picked up the coins again by late 20''s early 30's.

No kidding - Fast cars, hot girls, and beers were around 2.99 a twelve pack - for ten bucks we put gas in the car, bought beer, and picked up some girl friends and had a great night!!

Oh - to stay on topic - yes, I do agree that both of your coins are legit - just be careful in the future! Take pics of the coins you want to buy and send them and ask questions FIRST before buying!! I have done that on Ancient coins in the past as I have no Idea on how to tell if they are counterfeit! The input was instant and helped me immensely - Kudos to the Ancient Coin Guys!!!:singing:

From the images, I'm not good with the 1877. The gap between the 8 and 7 looks wrong, even with the week 8. The second 7 should be just a tad low of the first 7 but it looks to be at the same level. It's also interesting how the N in ONE is so worn and damaged in proportion to the rest of the coin. That's the first place you go to check out an 1877. I would have to hold this coin or have much better images to call it real.

Agree. Sound advice. I got a little bored and decided to start collecting ancients. Theyre a huge help. I say I dabble on both sides of the light, because I do still like my moderns & world coins. They say the ancients is the dark side hence were I came up with that. I continue to learn new stuff. Most I credit members in all the CT forums.
To get back on subject, lol.
