1876 INDIAN CENT MINT ERROR OR RUN OVER BY A TRAIN?

    This one is definitely flattened, oval shaped, and a bit larger than normal Indian Head size. It looks like some Lincoln cents that I let trains run over to pass the time while my parents were in the USAF base grocery store.

    Coins being run over by trains literally flattens them out all the way, but it might have been that. Who knows?

    It's too bad because 1876 is a very good coin. The damage hurts the value.

    I have a cull bag of wheats with everything from pits. bends, been buried to just so wore that the element can only be seen as a reflection. And it never fails, there mostly 70- 80's...I did find a couple of the Copper-Nickel a 62 and 63 weighing in at a whopping 4,6g. Thicks. Probably could have survived a train wheel attack!
