I found this coin hiding in the corner of a box while looking for tokens.
1874 Seated Liberty Dime, weak strike.
My grade for this coin is VF-25.
    Grade and comments?

I can agree with your grade.
But....possibly messed with at some point? Or at least hard usage.

Sneaky little lady, isn't she. LOL Sure is well worn. I can't tell if it is a shadow from a 2x2 or a MAD. Is that grease filled on the I in DIME, or just wear?

I would net it out as a Fine-12. Yes, it has a full LIBERTY, but the eye appeal is totally lacking. It's nice find from a junk box, but not a great coin overall.

25 looks about right to me.

I note it appears to be medal-turn, not coin-turn just based on the width of the rims on each side.
Off-center strike but does it possess full edge reeding?

I've often wondered how you get a significant off-center strike in a closed-collar operation. Wouldn't the die strike the collar? Does anyone know the difference in diameter between the OD of the die and the ID of the closed collar?

It is coin turn. What you see is a shadow, re. "off center strike." Full reeded edge.

Nice off Centered strike as it's on both sides. I rate her a 15 or 20. She's seen some wear but not a lot.

What appears to be an off-center strike is a shadow from poor lighting.

If that was in my one corner of the box, what did you find in the 3 other corners? Lol

I definitely see more rim at the top than the bottom on both sides and I'm allowing for that small shadow.

I found it while searching for tokens. It was hiding behind a Miami Transit Token. Nothing of consequence in the other three corners, only loose change, a button and some lint. Maybe I will dump the box one day and sort through the tailings

I recently bought a cigar box of tokens. No coins but some really nice tokens.
