The 1872 half dime is just Longacre doubling. Blow up the image and notice how the doubling goes all the way around the lettering in AMERICA.

The doubling at the foot and base match the V-7 but the shield does not.

So do I submit this? Where would you suggest as NGC missed it originally?

When you say NGC missed it, was attribution requested as well as grading and the appropriate extra fee included with submission?

The question I posed was whether there were online resources not the gobrecht file or something that shows an image or images of the variations that I could possibly be able to identify As it stands I'm still waiting now 2 to 3 weeks for the book by blythe

According Al Blythe's book the coin in your picture does match the V-6. It's very nice with a good strike. There are pictures of this die variety in the book I mentioned.
