I just wonder who pays return shipping ? To me it isn't even worth doing business with a company that sells mostly problem coins as the hassle of time and probable shipping isn't worth it to me .
I have not bought either coin, they have just been used as grading testers for me. I would like to see some if anyone has some graded. I would ask that the grade is not posted so I can see if I nail the grade! Thanks for all of your posts so far guys, its been very helpful!
I had one grade out cleaned. They refunded my purchase price and paid for the grading fees but I had to pay to ship back to them.
If you have a smart phone download the PCGS Photograde app. Since grading is so subjective, I check coins using the app. Also, buying the book "Making the Grade" is worth buying. I would also agree XF 45 is a good grade.
Aside from covering up problem coins, "juiced" photos create another fundamental issue in that they drive up auction prices higher than they would have been had the photo been more realistic. This in effect means that you are paying for eye appeal that doesn't exist. That is why I avoid bidding on coins from this seller even if certified. There have been numerous posts on this forum concerning Great Southern and they all pretty much say the same thing.
NEVER BUY RAW COINS FROM GSC!!!! Can't repeat that enough. I've never seen one that wasn't cleaned, polished, hairlined, damaged, or otherwise a problem coin. The first coin posted is an EF details, cleaned. The color is odd. The second coin is AU details, harshly cleaned and polished. Don't even think about touching that one!
