1867 Indian Head Cent - RPD or overdate?

    Just picked up this IHC and was inspecting under glass and I see this leg sticking out on the SE side of the 8. Does anyone know if this is a variety? If so, which one? Thanks.

    It's not listed in cpg. But looks to be a mpd or rpd better images could make a difference .

    Shot in a slab? If so, it might be tricky to get sharper pics. But I think better pictures are needed for an attribution. Right now, I don't see an RPD.

    You're right KurtS. I don't think it's there. I've gone back tonight when I got home and I believe it's a change in luster right there.

    Hard to see but at 5 K on the 8 looks to be something . Hard to tell slabed and not having the coin in hand
